opening Filters menu blacks out screen

I've been having this occasionally happen since I started learning how to use OBS. Sometimes when I try to open the menu to add/edit filters on a source, the entire screen will go black except for the Filters menu's preview of the source. I finally realized that I could get out by pressing escape, but I still can't access the Filters menu until it decides to work normally. I tried to get a screenshot, but the snipping tool went behind the black screen (i.e. the screenshot I got was just of my desktop background, despite the background being completely obscured on the screen).
